Buckley House is a student accommodation development of 115 en-suite rooms, a restaurant and houses for visiting lecturers. It is located in the heart of the historic town of Maynooth, in an architectural conservation area. It is a challenging site, featuring a prominent protected structure and adjacent to a national monument. The contemporary contrasting design was praised in the award of planning.

The contemporary contrasting design philosophy was been well received by the Council’s Architectural Division.
Buckley House is a 115 bed student accommodation development, which also features a public restaurant and plaza. Each en-suite student accommodation room is self contained. There are cooking facilities within rooms as well as a number of communal kitchens for social cooking and dining as well as numerous recreation spaces. Students also benefit from an on site gym and cafe.


Maynooth is Ireland’s only University Town and the well thought through design is located adjacent to the entrance to the Historic North University Campus. It will further integrate the university with the town. Having secured a valuable planning permission in this extremely difficult site, Demesne are currently progressing the project through construction documentation stage.
The project is immediately adjacent to Maynooth Castle, a National Monument. A contemporary approach, resonant of a historic fortified wall, set behind mature planting respected the Castle and won praise for its sensitivity.
