DCU Estates Office is a bespoke single storey estates office which includes open plan & private office space, a document library, meeting rooms and canteen facilities for the DCU Facility Management team. It is an exemplar of sustainability with enhanced insulation and green roof.
Fast Track Sustainability
The project had to be delivered to a very fast track programme, by November 2017, in advance of a visit by Bill Clinton to the University. The design team liaised closely with the Planning and Building Control to ensure statutory approvals were smoothly delivered, to ensure delivery on time and budget. Befitting of its prominent location, adjacent to and overlooked by the public areas of the Helix Theatre, the building was designed with external high-quality teak cladding and a sedum roof. This latter feature was one of the buildings sustainable features introduced by the design team to contribute to the University’s overall sustainable strategy.
