Construction of a single storey extension at Pobalscoil Neasáin secondary school. The works comprised one general classroom, one S.T.E.M classroom with preparation room, associated site works and additional car parking.
Despite delays due to weather interference and poor ground conditions which required remediation, the project was completed in line with the DoE grant and on programme, in time for the new school term. The project was constructed in a live environment which dictated a strictly controlled approach to manage both Health and Safety and minimise noise and comfort disturbance.
Careful design allowed the new extension to be seamlessly integrated with and linked directly to the existing a school. This added value that the design created, and which deviates from the general DoE requirement to build a remote stand-alone extension, was presented to and accepted by the Department of Education in Demesne’s stage 1/2a submission. The client is delighted with their new integrated accommodation.
