The Lighthouse is located on Lower Georges Street, Dun Laoghaire. It consists of 83 one, two or three bedroom apartments, 2 retail units and associated car parking. The building is 9 storeys high and is one of the highest buildings in Dun Laoghaire.
The high quality design and carefully considered communal spaces were key to successfully achieving planning permission on this sensitive site.
Scott Wallace, Demesne’s MD obtained planning permission for the development and oversaw the delivery of the structural shell. Due to the economic downturn, construction halted in 2008. Due to changes in the building regulations, Scott reworked the detail design and specification to comply with upgraded Part L stipulations. The stunning design is a landmark around Dun Laoghaire and was instrumental in securing the 9 storey grant of permission.
The design takes full advantage of the site’s vantage point, close to the sea front offering spectacular views to many of the apartments.
Inclusive whole life design was the catalyst for the project with a variety of unit types and sizes located throughout.
